Inspiration Healthcare are pleased to announce that Aerogen, have been awarded the gold industry prize for excellence in innovation at the second Irish Medical Devices Association (IMDA) Excellence Awards.

Inspiration Healthcare launched the Aeroneb Solo range in February 2008 and is thrilled with the news of the award.

The awards were supported by Enterprise Ireland and the Industrial Development Authority (IDA), Ireland’s State bodies for enterprise and development, and were held at Dromoland Castle, Co. Clare on 27 November 2008.

This award is viewed as a testament to Aerogen; a leading innovator in drug delivery systems and more specifically, in relation to Aerogen’s latest product, the Aeroneb® Solo nebuliser.

The Aeroneb Solo is the world’s first single patient use high performance nebuliser for aerosolised medication in the critical care sector. Used on life support ventilators – the Aeroneb Solo allows clinicians to deliver a wide range of life saving drug treatments directly targeted to the lung.

Its unique design allows the Aeroneb Solo to be used with the full spectrum of patients from infants to adults where it enables more efficient therapeutic benefit of administered drugs.

Speaking at the event, Aerogen’s Managing Director John Power said, “I am delighted and honoured to accept this award on behalf of the team at Aerogen who continue to push the boundaries in new product innovation for treatment of the most vulnerable and critically ill patients”.

The Aeroneb Solo was developed by implementation of Aerogen’s core business philosophy that is, identifying and targeting high value uncontested market space in which to establish a leadership position. The Aeroneb Solo is a prime example of success using this strategy.

Aerogen won this award by demonstrating excellence in innovation, research, development and commercialisation resulting in the best nebuliser available for use in critical care.
